Margaret Roper House Celebrate in Style for Halloween

Margaret Roper House celebrated in style this Halloween with a spooktacular party on 31st October. At a time of uncertainty, the party lifted everybody’s spirits with the residents and staff enjoying a build-up in the weeks before making decorations and treats for the event.

All of the people we care for at our care home in Southport dressed up in their most frightful costumes ready to party the day away. A quiz kicked the party off, with the winner receiving a lucky dip prize. Everyone also took part in a scavenger hunt, when residents went head to head against each other to find a rare ‘spooky’ item on a list including a pumpkin, spider and a broomstick.

Throughout the day, the fun didn’t stop as they played games of apple bobbing, musical statues, pass the parcel, Halloween karaoke and a best dressed award. Later everyone received a special appearance from some fluffy guests, Pebbles and Jaffa the King Charles spaniels who came dressed as cowboys which really humoured the home!

At 5pm, the residents were served a delicious buffet tea with an arrangement of sandwiches, cheese and pickle sticks, chutneys, sausage rolls and salad.

To finish a fangtastic evening off, a group of brave residents and staff gathered in the conservatory to sit and share spooky stories and ghost tales.

The day was one to remember for everyone at Margaret Roper House and they’re already looking forward to their Christmas party!
