Sponsor our Strictly Nugent 2019 dancers!
Our fourth annual dance competition and gala fundraiser, Strictly Nugent 2019, this year takes place at Anfield Stadium, Liverpool, on Saturday 2 November.
THE glamorous ballroom fundraising event of the year has raised over £110,000 over the last 3 years to help vulnerable children and families living with poverty. With the support of our sponsors by Lynbrook, this 4th year aims higher than ever to raise vital funds to support Nugent’s work with Families and young people.
This year we have 12 brave new dancers, paired up with professionals, taking on the Strictly Nugent challenge to help us raising money and you can sponsor them via the links below.
We’ll be posting training videos and photos across our social media and here over the next few weeks so, keeeeep watching!
The dancers taking part in Strictly Nugent 2019 are:

Dancing with Helen Maguire
Rian Adshead – Marriott Liverpool City Centre
My name is Rian, I’m originally from Stoke-on-Trent but now live and work in Liverpool for Marriott Liverpool city centre which is proudly partnered with Nugent this year as our charity of the year. Dancing in front of a live audience may be my worst nightmare, but I am thrilled to be helping raise money for an amazing charity and challenging myself to do something different, why not?! I’m taking part in Strictly Nugent 2019 to have a great time but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t in it to win it!

Paul Evans – Evan Motors, Huyton

Agnes Fitzgerald – Professional Networker
I’m over the moon to be 1 of 14 new dancers chosen for Strictly Nugent 2019 glamorous ballroom fundraising event of the year. Working with a professional dancer, we’re training for just 6 weeks and perform in the Beautiful Game Suite at Anfield. I am excited to take part in what I believe will be an amazing evening. I hope you will join us for a wonderful evening fundraising for a great cause.

Andy Hoffman – Atmosi
It’s very simple, I am aiming to be the John Sergeant of the evening. How do I feel? Terrified!

Vicky Komrower – The Royal Liverpool University Hospital
I am a Mum of three angels, cake maker, murder mystery party writer and organiser and in my spare time. I work full time as a consultant in acute medicine at Liverpool Royal hospital. I am fondly known as crazy – but in the best posible way (I hope!) I’ve got loads of enthusiasm and passion but sadly I don’t think it translates into dancing skill!
Dancing with Anton Du Cooke
Helen Redmond – DWF Law
Dancing with Ben Cosgrove
Klare Rufo – LACE
I am the Lead for The Archdiocese of Liverpool Primary School Improvement Trust. I work with an amazing team and 185 fabulous primary school head teachers across Merseyside, Wigan and Lancashire. I am blessed to have so many friends and family who support me including my wonderful husband Luke and two gorgeous sons Callum (21) and Raphael (5). I love all things 1950’s and sew all my own vintage and quirky dresses, the diocese know me for my unusual dress sense and fun shoes.

Anthea Thomas – Liverpool Chamber
I’m a huge Strictly Come Dancing fan so this is like a dream come true for me. I am a Mum and the Interim events manager at Liverpool Chamber. My hobbies include dancing around my kitchen with my daughter, running and socialising! I am excited about the dress I’ll get to wear to perform, it will be like playing dress up as an adult.
Dancing with Helen McCarron
Lettrice Thomas – Pennington Choices
I am really excited to be taking part in Strictly Nugent 2019. Pennington Choices has worked closely with Nugent and we are delighted to support a great cause! I have always been interested in different styles of dance, so this is the perfect opportunity to learn something new – As long as I don’t end up on the floor (unintentionally) I’ll be happy.
Dancing with Libby Rothwell
Jun Zhang – Atmosi
I am the CEO of Atmos International. Having learnt what Nugent does for the vulnerable and disadvantaged communities, I really want to do something to help. Strictly Nugent 2019 may turn out to be too much for me, but I am looking forward to the challenge!
