Take up the 2.6 Challenge!
Support Nugent & join in the 2.6 Challenge from Sunday 26 April 2020.
The Covid-19 pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on UK charities with the cancellation of thousands of events and the loss of billions in income through fundraising events.
The Virgin Money London Marathon, which should have taken place on Sunday 26 April, is the world’s biggest one-day fundraising event and raised more than £66.4 million for thousands of charities in 2019.
The cancellation of events have meant us missing out on the potential to earn over £20,000 that would have supported services including our housing support unit, helping people facing homelessness find a future though accommodation and benefits support, and our food market, where we help support families across some of Liverpool’s poorest communities by providing reduced-price goods.
We’re looking for people of all ages to do any activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26. You could do 26 press-ups in your loft, 26 keepie-uppies, skip for 2.6 minutes without any mistakes or walk 2.6km around your house in fancy dress – that’s 3,412 steps! The only requirement is that the activity must follow the Government guidelines on exercise and social distancing, and remember to stay local.
