Good Shepherd Appeal 2018
The theme for this year’s Good Shepherd Appeal is:
One Body, Working Together.
Ideas on how to engage your students in discussions and activities about the Good Shepherd Appeal can be downloaded from the links below and include, powerpoint assemblies, prayers, a classroom liturgy and more.
Throughout the year Nugent continues to support lots of different people because ‘Together we are Nugent.’ With your support we look after children who are not able to live with their families in our children’s homes, we find forever families through our adoption work, we look after older people including those living with dementia in our care homes, and we support children and adults who are living in poverty with practical and financial support.
We couldn’t do all these things without your help.
At the very heart of Nugent we believe that every person is treated with love, respect and dignity. The Good Shepherd Appeal enables schools and parishes to work alongside us and actively engage young people to work together to alleviate poverty and discrimination.
Good Shepherd Mass Dates for your diaries (you can download the flyer below)
Wednesday 6 June: The Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King at 1.00pm – Archbishop Malcolm McMahon will celebrate.
Tuesday 20 June: St Mary’s Church, Leyland at 10.30am – Bishop Tom will celebrate.
At both masses, the children will be invited to present their fundraising donations. Please make cheques payable to Nugent Care.
Last year we sent a number of schools, Good Shepherd collection boxes, this year we have decided not to send out boxes to every school as we are very conscious of the cost. You can, however, download a collection box template below, students can colour it in themselves, and make the box up.
We do have some old collection boxes in stock, and we are recycling these for your use. If you require any please contact us.
If you would like us to visit your school and talk about the work of Nugent, please contact:-
